Every app on Teacher Hive has an Info page at /info/{slug}. This is the public face of the app: title, description, and who added it.
What you'll find
- App icon and name, plus the author's name. If the author's profile is public, it is linked.
- Description, a short summary and a longer write-up from the teacher who built it.
- Date, the day the app was last updated.
- Launches, the number of times the app has been launched. If you own the app, click it to open the app's Stats page. Pro sees the full page, Builders see a preview.
- QR code, shows the app's URL and QR code full screen, ready to project for your class. See Showing the QR code to your class, below.
- Launch button, opens the app in a new tab.
- Visit button, opens the external link in a new tab.
- Bookmark icon, save the app to a list of yours. Only users who are logged in can bookmark.
- Like heart, tap to publicly show the app some love. The heart shows the total likes, and anyone can see the count, even before signing in.
- Target audience, who the app is designed for.
- Additional details, more information from the app's author.
- Videos, demos or walkthroughs from the author. Click one to play it right on the page.
- Screenshots, images from the author. Click one to see it full size.
- Tags, user-entered keywords. Click a tag to see other apps with the same tag.
- Report this app, opens a form users can submit to let Teacher Hive know something is not quite right with the app.
- Comments, ask the author questions or share what worked.
Showing the QR code to your class
Click the QR code button to show the app's URL and QR code full screen. Click the X to close it.
- Background: the circle cycles background colors.
- Timer: set the time, and a small progress bar moves across the top of the screen.
- Music: play background music. It fades out when the timer beeps.
- Full screen: leave full screen mode to put the display back into a browser tab.
- Text: add a text box where you can display instructions alongside the QR code.
- Saved settings: your instructions, background color, and music choices are saved locally to your device. They are never sent to Teacher Hive, so they won't show up on another computer or in another browser.
Sharing the Info page
The Info page is meant for educators to learn about the app. It explains what the app does without launching it. The Launch URL (apphive.us/{slug}) is the one to give students or guests.
