Teacher Hive keeps you in the loop three ways: the notification bell at the top of every page, batched email digests for comments and messages, and optional browser push notifications. Manage notifications from My Settings.
The bell
The bell shows replies to your comments, new comments on your apps, direct messages, and Teacher Hive announcements.
The bell also lights up when someone likes one of your apps, so you'll always know when your work strikes a chord.
Comment & message emails
When you have unread notifications from comments or direct messages, we bundle them into a single email so your inbox doesn't fill up. You'll get at most 4 emails a day.
Opening the bell marks notifications as seen, so they won't be included in a future email.
Toggle this off in My Settings if you'd rather rely on the bell only.
Push notifications
When push is on, you'll get a notification when:
- Someone comments on or replies to one of your apps or Buzz posts.
- Someone you follows publishes a new app.
- One of your apps gets close to its monthly usage cap.
The first time you enable push, your browser will ask permission. If you say no by accident, you can re-enable from your browser's site settings and try again.
Buzz Emails
The Buzz Email is a weekly digest of new apps from teachers you follow, freshly updated apps, and posts from Tony Vincent. Opt in or out in My Settings.
Per-app email caps
If you build apps with the Email Superpower (Pro only), you can cap how many emails a single app sends per day. Set that cap in the Edit App form under Email Superpower.
