Pinning puts your most-used apps in a row near the top of your home page, and in a dock on your My Apps page. The apps you reach for every day stay one tap away. Tap a pinned app to open it in a new tab.
How to pin an app
Pinning works through bookmarks. Pinned is a special bookmark list that shows on your home page.
- Click the bookmark icon on any app to open Save to List, then check Pinned.
- The app appears in your pinned row right away, on both your home page and your My Apps dock.
- Anything you can bookmark can be pinned, including your own apps and other teachers' apps.
Managing a pinned app
Every pinned app has a small pin badge in the top corner of its icon. Click the badge to open Save to List, where you can unpin the app or add it to your other lists.
Putting them in order
Simply drag pinned icons to reorder them.
Alternatively, open My Bookmarks and pick the Pinned list. The order you set here is the order your pinned apps appear in on your home page.
- Toggle to List view.
- Drag any app to a new position.
- Prefer the keyboard? Select an app and press the up or down arrow keys to move it.
Your order saves automatically.
Showing or hiding app names
On the Pinned tab in My Bookmarks, the Show app names on Home page checkbox turns the labels under your pinned icons on or off. Turn it off for a cleaner, icon-only row.
Good to know
- You can pin up to 20 apps.
- The Pinned list is always private. It shows only to you.
- Unpinning an app does not remove it from your other bookmark lists.
Pinned is one of your bookmark lists. To learn more about saving and organizing apps, see Bookmarking apps.
