My district join a student data privacy consortium this year and we have them vet all of our approved tools to get signed Data Privacy Agreements. I recently submitted GitHub Education as a means to host files to use in Vibe Coding projects. They (GitHub) refused to sign an agreement. Does anyone know of another education platform where files (audio, video, & image) can be stored for free and retrieved in Vibe Coding projects?

The free part is the stickler here. It takes money to offer media storage, so it's hard to come by free storage that gives you a straight-up web link to use in your vibe-coded apps. Dan, you've timed your question just right for the rollout of Teacher Hive's File Locker. It's made for vibe coders to upload media files and get URLs they can use in their apps. The storage limit is 50MB, which is enough to store dozens of images. Access your File Locker from the top-right user menu, inside the Add App screen, or at teacherhive.app/file-locker . (Teacher Hive will have a paid tier with a much higher storage limit.)
I’m intrigued by this and can’t wait to test it out… also interested in the paid tier since it is for a great site.
I also took a look today at the File Locker. Am I understanding correctly with the notion of AI won’t be able to preview the files, would that also mean that the code embedded on a Google Site will also not be able to access the items in File Locker?
AI can preview the files, but only while your File Locker is unlocked. To prevent hot linking (when other sites use Teacher Hive’s bandwidth to display media), files are only accessible within a Teacher Hive app. That said, after you upload a file, the locker stays unlocked for 12 hours so you can preview and work with it in your AI tool. If you need more time, you can manually unlock it again in 12-hour increments while you continue working in your AI chat before bringing it back into Teacher Hive.
