Edit any of your apps from the My Apps page or from the app's Info page. Click Edit. The Edit App form opens with everything pre-filled.
What you can change
- Name, description, additional details
- App icon and social image
- Target grades, audience, tags
- The HTML code itself
- Superpower settings (turn them on, off, or reconfigure)
What you can't change
- Slug. The URL is permanent once you publish. If you need a new URL, duplicate the app and delete the original version.
Saving an edit
Click Save. The app reloads at the same URL with your changes. Anyone with a tab open on the app will see the update next time they refresh.
Freshly Updated posts
When you save an edit to a publicly listed app, Teacher Hive may post a Freshly Updated entry on The Buzz so other teachers know there's a new version.
Discarding an edit
If you've made changes in the form but want to back out, click Cancel. The form warns you about unsaved changes. To revert HTML to what you previously had saved, see Updating the code with AI.
Duplicating an app
At the bottom of the App form, click Duplicate to make a copy of the app with a new URL slug. The copy carries over the code, description, icon, target grades, tags, and Superpower settings. Data inside an app with Connected Superpower does not carry over to the duplicate.
Pausing an app
At the bottom of the App form, click the pause icon (next to Delete) to temporarily take your app offline without deleting it. Anyone visiting the URL sees a friendly "paused" message until you resume. Your code, data, comments, stats, and bookmarks are preserved. The app stays on your profile and in bookmarks with a Paused badge.
Pause is sticky. It stays in effect until you resume from the same icon, or by clicking the Paused badge on the app's card on My Apps. Great for end-of-year, taking time to fix a bug, or pulling an app from class circulation without giving up the URL.
